Early Learning Specialist (Part-time)

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is an award-winning, nonprofit, nonsectarian human services organization founded in 1943. It is the largest provider of licensed outpatient community mental health services in Westchester County, delivering innovative programs and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people annually. We are seeking an Early Learning Specialist (ELS) for our Summer Fun in Hartley Park Program. The ELS will support set-up and break-down of program materials while actively engaging families throughout each session. This is a part-time position (8 hours per week) paying $20.00 per hour and running for 8 weeks. Responsibilities: • Attend Summer Fun in Hartley Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am–1:00pm for 8 weeks beginning in June. • Assist with set-up and break-down of program materials and activities. • Facilitate and model positive parent-child interactions. • Participate in weekly training with supervisor and co-workers. Requirements: • High School diploma. • Reliable transportation. • Interest in working with parents and young children. • Demonstrated warmth, patience, and professionalism. • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. • Ability to bend, kneel, lift 30 pounds, climb stairs, and sit on floor. • Basic computer skills and comfort using mobile apps.
