Director, Housewide Education

Job description

The Director, Housewide Education directs and designs curriculum to train and update skills and knowledge of nursing staff. Directs and organizes nurse educators to meet the educational needs of the nursing staff. Evaluates department performance and ensures all federal and state regulatory requirements are met. Schedule: Full-time, Days, 40 hrs, exempt Essential Responsibilities: • Develop department goals and objectives; develop training programs to meet organization training and regulatory needs • Consult to all departments regarding their educational needs • Coordinate hospital-operated schools and allied health education affiliated programs • Maintain training records and competency skills programs • Plans, organizes, directs and supervises nursing and house-wide educational service/programs • Develop community programs • Develop various reports for management review • Develop and recommend department budget Minimum Qualifications: • Education: Master's Degree preferred • Experience: Sufficient previous teaching/training experience in an educational or health care institution • Licensure: RN, State of Connecticut (required) • Ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines • Ability to communicate effectively • Demonstrated leadership and educational skills
