Job description

The Hamilton Jewish Federation seeks a passionate, visionary leader to guide the organization through its next stage of growth and community development. Hamilton is a vibrant Jewish community of 5,300 members located in a city of 650,000+, and the Federation serves as its central communal organization — committed to building a strong, enduring Jewish community locally, in Israel, and throughout the Jewish world. The Role: The CEO serves as chief professional officer, providing overall strategic leadership and management across financial resource development, community relations and advocacy, human and financial resources, programming, and lay governance. Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic direction and public leadership as the face of the Federation • Lead and diversify the Annual Campaign and philanthropic development strategy • Grow planned giving, endowments, and bequests • Inspire, engage, and manage lay leadership and volunteer succession • Supervise programmatic initiatives and beneficiary agency relationships • Manage operating budgets and professional staff • Represent the Federation with national, continental, and international organizations • Sustain partnerships with government, faith-based, cultural, and civic organizations Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years in a senior management role • Proven fundraising expertise and track record • Nonprofit or Jewish communal experience preferred • Commitment to Israel, Jewish values, and Jewish life • Superior interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills • Financial acumen and sound analytical ability • Familiarity with the Hamilton Jewish community an asset Salary: CAD $170,000–$190,000 plus comprehensive benefits.
