About CSS: Community Security Service (CSS) is dedicated to protecting Jewish life by empowering communities to take ownership of their own security. CSS trains and equips Jewish community members and organizations across North America with the skills, knowledge, and resources to keep their communities safe. Position Overview: CSS seeks an Associate Director, Communications & Digital Marketing to lead the organization's communications, content, marketing, website, and brand efforts. This is a strategic but highly hands-on individual contributor role for someone who can set direction, build structure, and personally execute at a high level — owning content end-to-end and shaping how CSS communicates its mission, impact, and value to key audiences. Key Responsibilities: Communications & Content: • Own CSS's communications and content strategy across external channels • Write, edit, and manage content including emails, newsletters, website copy, social media, presentations, donor materials, and volunteer communications • Develop clear, compelling messaging that reflects CSS's mission and impact • Build and manage a content calendar to support organizational priorities • Collaborate with CSS's PR firm on media strategy, messaging alignment, and press opportunities Social Media: • Own CSS's social media presence across platforms • Develop strategy, content planning, posting cadence, and day-to-day execution • Track performance and continuously refine content based on results Brand & Creative: • Own both the visual and verbal brand across communications, campaigns, digital assets, and the website • Help evolve CSS's brand identity in a modern, professional, mission-aligned direction • Support light creative production including content editing and asset development • Experience with photo and video capture, editing tools a strong plus Website: • Own the CSS website as a core communications and marketing platform • Manage content, messaging, UX, and conversion paths • Partner with internal and external resources to improve SEO, structure, and performance Marketing & Campaign Execution: • Lead digital marketing including PPC, SEO, online video, and display advertising • Build campaign planning, channel strategy, and marketing execution • Develop database marketing, audience targeting, and segmentation strategies Analytics & Reporting: • Track and report on KPIs across communications, marketing, website, and campaigns • Use data to improve decision-making and strengthen execution Qualifications: • Deep commitment to CSS's mission of protecting Jewish community security • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, content, marketing, or related roles • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills • Hands-on experience with digital marketing including PPC and SEO • Experience owning social media strategy and execution • Experience with brand strategy and visual brand execution • Strong analytical mindset with experience tracking KPIs • Experience with HubSpot (or similar CRM/automation), Google Analytics, WordPress, and Canva • Strong AI tool proficiency • Video editing a major plus • Available for evenings and weekends as needed Salary: $90,000–$120,000 commensurate with experience and location.
