Over the past five years, J Street has doubled its budget and dramatically expanded its reach. Position Overview: As Managing Deputy Regional Director, you'll manage and mentor a dynamic, multi-functional team of up to five people across fundraising, lay-led advocacy, and political engagement — enhancing J Street's presence in the NYC Metropolitan Region. Working closely with the Regional Director, you'll set the vision, build the systems, and create the kind of team culture where people do their best work and grow their careers. Responsibilities: • Work closely with the Director of Mid-Atlantic and Florida to formulate and guide execution of strategies to meet J Street's regional goals • Manage up to five direct reports across fundraising, lay-led advocacy, and political engagement; provide professional guidance, clear goal setting, and accountability • Fundraise and steward relationships with a subset of the NYC portfolio • Create systems and structures that facilitate team effectiveness and efficiency • Ensure the Mid-Atlantic Team is well integrated and working effectively with other J Street teams Qualifications: • At least 2 years of direct management experience with at least two direct reports • Passion for J Street's mission and strong understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and American Jewish politics • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate J Street's positions • Highly organized with the ability to help direct reports structure complex projects and problem solve • Personally engaging; able to build and cultivate relationships with a broad range of community contacts • Willingness to travel regionally; valid driver's license required • 2–4 years of fundraising, donor relations, or development experience strongly preferred • Familiarity with the region, congressional delegations, and Jewish communal landscape preferred Salary: $95,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience.
