The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Kansas City is seeking a Finance & Operations Associate to support foundation operations including finance and accounting. This position provides administrative support for Foundation operations including finance and accounting leadership. Key responsibilities include: Administers and executes assigned components of cash receipts and electronic collections, ensuring accurate recording in accordance with established controls; Assists in the preparation of regulatory and tax reporting and processing charitable requests; Prepares monthly reconciliations of key accounts; Handles gifts of securities, coordinating gifts assets and brokers, ensuring the sale of securities, managing withdrawals and analyzing securities valuation and fees. Maintains supporting schedules used for the month-end close and accounting disclosures; Assists with the annual budget process, including consolidation and variance review; Processes expense as a result of a cash advance and a cost tool for filing, including extracting transactions; Prepare monthly deposit report; Backup support for other administrative tasks as assigned by the Operations Director or CFO. Ideal candidate: 3-5 years of general accounting experience required; Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred; Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; Experience working with endowment or nonprofit organizations preferred; Mergent/Bloomberg a plus; Analytical and computer skills and proficiency with Excel is required and other processes; Strong attention to detail; Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple ongoing activities; Flexible customer service attitude.
