Assistant Director, Student Engagement - Jewish Life at Duke

Jewish Life at Duke is seeking an Assistant Director, Student Engagement for a dynamic role at Duke University's Center for Jewish Life. This position focuses on creating meaningful Jewish experiences for Duke's diverse Jewish student population. The Assistant Director will work closely with students to develop and implement innovative programs that strengthen Jewish identity, build community, and connect students with Jewish values, Israel, and Jewish life. Key responsibilities include: Plan and execute large-scale programs and the Freeman Center for Jewish Life events including signature programs such as Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and student-led gatherings; Advise and support undergraduate student clubs focused on Jewish identity and community; Work closely with student leaders to create engaging, student-driven programming that meets diverse Jewish student interests; Collaborate on diversity and pluralism efforts to ensure Jewish life programming is welcoming and accessible to students across the religious spectrum; Manage logistics for events including budgeting, vendor relations, and event execution; Build partnerships with campus departments and other student life staff to integrate Jewish life into the broader Duke community; Serve as a resource and mentor to Jewish students navigating their Jewish journeys on campus; Support recruitment and engagement efforts to reach unaffiliated and marginalized Jewish students; Develop and implement innovative programs around Israel education and engagement; Track program metrics and assess program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
