Job description

URJ Camp Newman is seeking a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to help maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of residential cabins, common areas, restrooms, dining facilities and staff accommodations. This key role ensures all areas are safe, clean and welcoming for guests, campers and staff. Reporting to the Director of Retreat Services & Site Operations, the Housekeeper cleans and sanitizes accommodations and common areas year‑round; follows daily cleaning schedules; maintains cleanliness in high‑traffic areas such as restrooms and dining facilities; assists with deep cleaning during seasonal transitions; and supports event and retreat setups by ensuring spaces are clean and organized. Additional duties include handling and storing cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, reporting hazards or maintenance issues to the lead housekeeper or facilities manager, maintaining an organized work area with stocked supplies, and responding to urgent cleaning requests.
