Jewish Currents is seeking a full-time Editor-in-Chief to lead the magazine’s editorial team and guide its editorial content, vision, and strategy across print and digital platforms. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping editorial direction, managing editors and writers, developing and approving pitches, ensuring quality and consistency, and representing the publication publicly. The Editor-in-Chief will collaborate closely with staff, contributors, designers, and organizational leadership while mentoring team members and fostering a healthy, mission-aligned editorial culture. Ideal candidates bring significant journalism and editorial leadership experience, strong communication and management skills, familiarity with Jewish culture and left politics, and the ability to balance long-term vision with day-to-day execution. Compensation is $120,000 or commensurate with experience, with a comprehensive benefits package.
