Director of Development

Job description

The Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh is seeking a Director of Development to support and grow the donor base while stewarding a culture of philanthropy across the community. Reporting to the CEO, this exempt full-time role provides senior leadership for development strategy and execution, including managing and implementing the annual development plan, donor engagement and cultivation, marketing/communications support, and the solicitation and stewardship of charitable gifts. Responsibilities include overseeing donor portfolio development, prospecting and cultivation support for the CEO, managing corporate partnerships, grant writing and reporting, preparing dashboards and reports for board leadership, and collaborating with staff, board members, and volunteers to advance fundraising goals. Preferred experience includes raising at least $1 million annually and closing gifts of $5,000+ (with larger gifts preferred). Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of direct fundraising experience, strong relationship management and communication skills, and nonprofit budget/operations experience preferred.
