Job description

Hillel Deutschland seeks a passionate, experienced leader as CEO to build upon their successful foundation. This full-time position offers salary according to TVÖD Federal Level E13-E14, starting May 1, 2026. The CEO will lead strategic vision, develop financial resources, support students and young adults, and strengthen partnerships across Germany's Jewish communities and civil society. Responsibilities include Jewish communal leadership, management of the association (6-8 staff), workplace culture development, and representing Hillel Deutschland as primary spokesperson. Requirements include a Master's degree (preferably in Jewish Studies, Nonprofit Management, or Education), 5+ years senior leadership experience in nonprofts with grant acquisition, German language proficiency (minimum C1), and EU citizenship or long-term EU work permission. The position includes fair NGO compensation, flexible home office 1-2 days per week, personal development opportunities, Deutschlandticket or bike leasing, and opportunities for international travel.
