NCJW's Government Relations and Advocacy Department offers internships to rising college juniors/seniors and fellowships for graduate students. This opportunity provides first-hand learning about advocacy and the legislative process. Compensation $17.95/hour and/or academic credit. Opportunities include learning about public policy and legislative process by assisting staff and attending legislative hearings, briefings, coalition meetings, rallies, and press conferences; assisting with issue portfolios such as reproductive rights, judicial nominations, voting rights, economic justice, LGBTQ equality, religious liberty, and immigration; drafting and editing advocacy materials including points, regulatory comments, letters, op-eds, and policy updates; planning and executing a lobby day by meeting with congressional staff and members; and gaining understanding of nonprofit operations. Requirements include strong writing and communication skills, ability to learn quickly, commitment to social justice issues, and willingness to get involved. No previous professional experience necessary. Two years of higher education or commensurate experience strongly preferred. Hours are flexible, part-time (minimum 2 days per week; 180 maximum hours in Fall/Spring, 350 maximum hours in Summer). Currently accepting applications for Summer 2026.
