Engagement & Leadership Intern

Job description

NCJW offers internships for rising college juniors/seniors and fellowships for graduate students within the Engagement & Leadership Team. This excellent opportunity provides hands-on experience in nonprofit advocacy, community engagement, event planning, and leadership development. Compensation $17.50/hour and/or academic credit. Key responsibilities include relationship building & networking (work with NCJW leaders and partners nationwide, cultivate relationships with stakeholders, gain exposure to high-level operations); advocacy & communications support (assist in development and implementation of advocacy campaigns, support communications efforts including social media); administrative & operational support (manage schedules, prepare materials, coordinate meetings, provide day-to-day operations support); and professional development (participate in training sessions, mentorship opportunities, collaborative projects). Requirements include strong commitment to progressive change, racial justice, gender equity, and NCJW values; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work independently and collaboratively; experience or interest in nonprofit work, event planning, advocacy, or community engagement preferred; familiarity with social media platforms and content creation desirable. Hours are flexible, part-time (minimum 2 days per week; 180 maximum hours in Fall/Spring, 350 maximum hours in Summer). In-person internships preferred but remote applicants accommodated.
