Job description

The Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies seeks a Director of Development to steward established donor relationships, cultivate new relationships, and develop engagement strategies to enhance and grow endowments. Salary $100,000-$120,000 based on experience. The Director will supervise Client Service Manager(s), serve as liaison between the Foundation and constituent partners, coordinate CRM database management and reporting, oversee event logistics and annual Impact report, and manage donor stewardship efforts. Primary responsibilities include donor cultivation (identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors, foundations, and corporate partners for endowed gifts using legacy giving and charitable vehicles; respond to donor inquiries; enhance donor/Foundation relationships); stewardship (strengthen donor stewardship program, acknowledge and report on impact, answer donor questions); community engagement (expand Buffalo Jewish Community's endowment fund efforts via legacy gifts); events and outreach (oversee execution of donor events, recognition activities, community outreach programs, capital campaign management); team leadership (oversee development team, collaborate with Executive Director and Board, create development training program for Jewish agencies); and data management (oversee donor database, track giving patterns, monitor performance metrics). Requirements include Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field, minimum 5 years nonprofit donor relations experience, exceptional understanding of philanthropy, ability to create and execute comprehensive donor stewardship campaigns, excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong relationships with Buffalo's Jewish community, and high ethical standards.
