Job description
Woodlands Community Temple, a welcoming Jewish synagogue affiliated with the Reform movement in Westchester County, seeks a Director of Youth Engagement starting July 1. The temple fosters a diverse and inclusive atmosphere dedicated to inspiring meaningful connections through spiritual, educational, and communal experiences, with a strong emphasis on youth engagement and development as a cornerstone of Jewish traditions and values. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about building relationships with and among young people, helping them to find their Jewish voices through engaging youth programming, and ensuring that Woodlands welcomes teens wherever they are on their Jewish journey. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: engaging teens one-on-one, running our teen Academy program, overseeing our MadrICHim (teen aide) program, advising our Youth Group (WoofYG), promoting Jewish summer camp opportunities, coordinating immersive experiences for 9th-12th grades, providing support and guidance to teens navigating their teen years and Jewish identity, coordinating immersive experiences with teens, building relationships with teens, crafting meaningful Jewish experiences, and will be an integral part of our leadership team partnering with our clergy and educators. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, innovative individual who thrives at building relationships with teens, crafting meaningful Jewish experiences, and serving as an ambassador for the temple's mission and values.
