The Philanthropy Assistant serves as a core operational and donor-service hub for the Philanthropy team. This role ensures exceptional donor support and smooth coordination across departments by managing donor communications, acknowledgments, grant reporting, and portal support. The position combines administrative strength, technical accuracy, and donor-centered service, while partnering with Data, Finance, and DAF Operations to maintain accurate records and timely transactions. The role reports to the Managing Director, Philanthropy and supports advisors and leadership with meeting prep, reporting, stewardship workflows, and special projects. Core Responsibilities: Donor Service & Stewardship: - Respond to donor inquiries and provide hands-on donor portal support - Reissue acknowledgments and tax receipts as needed - Generate grant and impact reports for donors - Manage acknowledgment workflows for high-level donors - Track gifts and draft leadership acknowledgment notes - Support lifecycle communications and contribution acknowledgments Administrative & Team Support: - Provide administrative support across the Philanthropy team - Coordinate meetings, agendas, logistics, and follow-ups - Assist Philanthropy Advisors with donor meeting preparation - Handle internal and external meeting requests - Support on-site events and board activities as part of the admin team Data, Reporting & Operations: - Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce - Run reports for staff, board members, and lay leaders - Coordinate with Data, Finance, and DAF Operations teams - Support special projects and process improvement initiatives Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree required - 3–5 years of donor or client service experience in a complex environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Highly organized with strong attention to detail - Team-oriented with strong service mindset - Salesforce or similar CRM experience preferred - Experience with philanthropic grant programs is a plus - Comfortable learning new technical systems - Reliable follow-through and deadline management - Familiarity with Jewish community and philanthropy preferred Compensation: Hourly salary range $34 – $39 plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick pay, holidays (including Jewish holidays), and retirement plan.
