The Maine Jewish Museum (MJM) is seeking an Associate Director of Development to build and lead its major gifts program during a period of significant growth. Located in Portland, ME, MJM celebrates the contributions and diversity of Maine’s Jewish community through contemporary art exhibitions, historical displays, and dynamic community programming. Over the past three years, community support has nearly quadrupled, with annual operating revenue now exceeding $800,000. This newly created role will serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Director, focusing on identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donors while building a sustainable fundraising pipeline. This is a relationship-driven position — the majority of time will be spent developing donor relationships throughout the Greater Portland area. The role is part-time (20 hours per week) and primarily remote, with regular in-person donor meetings and occasional evening or weekend events. Qualifications include 5+ years of nonprofit development experience, a proven track record of closing $10,000+ gifts, and strong CRM and relationship-building skills. Compensation: $110,000–$130,000 annualized.
