Job description
The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) represents 146 Jewish Federations and dozens of Network communities that collectively raise and distribute more than $3.5 billion annually for Jewish needs locally, in Israel, and worldwide. JFNA's Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care seeks an Assistant Director, Finance and Grants to provide technical support and capacity-building related to budget management and grantmaking operations. This role is based in Washington, D.C. with flexibility for hybrid or remote work (Eastern or Central Time Zones preferred). Key Responsibilities: • Review and approve budgets and financial reports for grant-funded projects • Deliver financial guidance to subgrantees across the U.S. • Draft budgets, narratives, and compliance documentation for federal and non-federal grants • Develop training and webinars on financial procedures for subgrantees • Analyze spending trends and prepare financial reports • Manage contracts, MOUs, and cooperative agreements • Collaborate with internal finance teams and external stakeholders • Participate in site visits and conferences Required Qualifications: • Five years of progressive nonprofit or grantmaking budget management experience • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) • Expertise in nonprofit finance, budgeting, and grant compliance • Strong Excel and MS Office proficiency • Excellent organizational and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: • Federal grants and Code of Federal Regulations experience • Interest in aging, trauma-informed care, and Holocaust survivor support Salary: $70,000–$80,000 Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage; retirement plan; paid holidays; parental leave; flexible work arrangements.
