Job description

The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) seeks an Assistant Director, Finance and Programs for its Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care. This role provides financial and programmatic oversight, technical support, and strategic guidance to subgrantees implementing person-centered, trauma-informed services for Holocaust survivors and aging adults. The position is based in Washington, D.C. or New York with flexibility for hybrid or remote work. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee federally funded subgrantee projects, budgets, and grants as primary liaison to organizational leadership • Review and monitor annual budgets, quarterly financial reports, and program reports for compliance • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building to subgrantees • Conduct site visits and quarterly monitoring calls • Draft budgets, grant narratives, financial templates, and cooperative agreements • Develop systems and standard operating procedures for efficiency • Lead grant application reviews and scoring processes • Collaborate with JFNA's Finance Department and external stakeholders Required Qualifications: • Five years of progressive experience in budget analysis, grant management, capacity-building, or nonprofit/government social services • Bachelor's degree (master's preferred in social work, gerontology, business, or public administration) • Experience with multi-year budgets and grant compliance • Strong problem-solving and communication skills • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel • Ability to travel for site visits • Interest in aging, trauma, and Holocaust survivor services Salary: $70,000–$80,000 Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, defined contribution plan, generous vacation, paid holidays, life insurance, and flexible remote work options.
