Job description

The Montana Jewish Project (MJP) enriches Jewish life and fosters connections among Jewish residents across the state of Montana. MJP seeks a visionary Executive Director to lead strategic operations, fundraising, and community engagement statewide. This is a full-time, exempt position based in Helena, MT. The Executive Director serves as MJP's primary visionary and external representative, working in a startup-like environment while building on established community relationships. Key Responsibilities: • Translate organizational mission into actionable priorities; lead strategic planning • Build and maintain a trust-based relationship with the Board of Directors • Lead all fundraising efforts through relational approaches with individual donors and institutional funders • Oversee programming for Helena's local Jewish community, statewide Jewish communities, and interfaith Montana neighbors • Maintain relationships with rabbis and community members across Montana • Manage daily operations within budget; supervise one support staff member and volunteers • Travel within Montana as required Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience • 3–7 years progressive leadership experience in executive or senior management • Demonstrated track record in fundraising or community organizing • Board management and governance experience • Nonprofit, startup, or business environment experience preferred • Valid driver's license; travel within Montana required • Genuine connection to or appreciation of Jewish community, values, and identity Salary: $70,000–$75,000 (FSA or retirement contribution negotiable) To Apply: Email [email protected].
