Social Worker - Oncology

Responsibilities
As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the social worker will conduct psychosocial assessments throughout patients' disease trajectories and provide clinical interventions to patients and caregivers.
Patients are supported from diagnosis through end-of-life care, with services that include psychosocial support and referrals to internal and community resources to enhance their quality of life.
The social worker will also be expected to develop familiarity with oncology-specific resources and will be responsible for maintaining and developing additional oncology support programs.
Qualifications
NYS LMSW or LCSW.

Experience providing psychosocial services to patients with cancer preferred.

Experience working with serious illness, grief, and bereavement preferred.

Skills in rapid psychosocial assessment and focused, short-term treatment.

Excellent clinical, communication, collaborative, and organizational skills.

Experience with or interest in group work.

Program development experience preferred.

One year in current position unless a float in Oncology.

Bilingual Spanish preferred.
