Camp Keff Winter Camp Extended Care Counselor

Camp Keff at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center is hiring Extended Care Counselors for its winter break camp. Counselors are the heart of Camp Keff: working under the Camp Director, you make sure every child feels welcome, safe and loved during the afternoon extended care hours, while developing program planning and professional skills of your own. Camp Keff has run programs for TK through grade 11 for more than five decades and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Responsibilities:
• Take responsibility for the emotional and physical safety of children in your care
• Plan and run a variety of afternoon programs and engage with campers throughout the shift
• Resolve conflicts within the group as needed
• Work collaboratively with other staff and uphold the mission, goals and spirit of the PJCC and Camp Keff

Qualifications:
• Experience working with youth in grades TK-5 preferred
• Passionate about working with youth and creating powerful experiences in a camp setting
• Camp experience and knowledge of Jewish culture a plus
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

**Hours:** Paid training December 16, 2026, 6:00-7:00 pm. Shifts 2:30-6:00 pm on December 17-18, December 21-24 and December 28-31, 2026. Note that this includes Friday afternoon shifts.

**Pay:** $18.00 per hour, plus paid training and free membership to the PJCC Athletic Center on contracted days.
