Tribe Leader (Unit Head)

Eden Village West, a Jewish summer camp in Sonoma County focused on environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual connection, is hiring Tribe Leaders (Unit Heads) for summer 2027. Tribe Leaders are a central part of the leadership team: each one supervises and supports the counselors in their Tribe (age group) and creates evening programs for campers, helping counselors be role models, caretakers and magic-makers.

Responsibilities:
• Train counselors during staff training and give ongoing supervision, feedback and daily support
• Manage camper issues in the tribe with the camper care team, using Nonviolent Communication
• Lead meals and all-camp moments, and cover key times such as rest hour, free time and bedtime
• Design and run Tribe Nights, build tribe schedules, and schedule counselors' time off
• Serve as a liaison among campers, counselors, the office, directors, the health center and specialists
• Respect and support a pluralistic Jewish community

Qualifications:
• At least 18 years old, and able to live on site for the full 7-week season and attend staff training
• Supervisory experience, or clearly ready to supervise counselors who may be your peers
• Flexible, open to feedback, and able to put campers' and staff's needs first

**Schedule:** Pre-season online training, then on site June 4–July 29, 2027, with one 24-hour day off each week and at least an hour off daily. Room and board included, with three kosher, organic meals a day.
