Director of Programs

Coastal Roots Farm, a nonprofit community farm and education center in Encinitas guided by Jewish values, is hiring a Director of Programs. This new senior leadership role brings together the Farm's Education and Jewish Life work and oversees its full portfolio of programs and events and the teams behind them. Two goals sit at its heart: inspiring young people to become environmental stewards, and building Jewish community through the Farm's land-based setting.

Responsibilities:
• Set strategy for and lead education, community, volunteer, tour, internship, family, adult, Shabbat, Jewish holiday and public programs
• Supervise managers and lead layered teams of full-time, part-time, seasonal, contract and volunteer staff
• Manage program budgets, earned revenue, scholarships, evaluation and impact reporting
• Strengthen systems and build partnerships with schools, families and Jewish organizations
• Represent the Farm with donors, vendors and community stakeholders

Qualifications:
• 7+ years of leadership in education, Jewish communal life, community programming, environmental education or nonprofit leadership
• Experience supervising managers and leading layered teams
• Experience with program budgets, earned revenue and impact reporting
• Knowledge of Jewish holidays, traditions and communal life
• Available for evenings, Sundays, and Jewish holidays or Shabbat when programs require

Salary: Starting at $90,000, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive benefits package
