Elementary Hebrew and Judaic Studies Teacher

Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit, an independent Jewish day school serving Early Childhood through 8th grade, is hiring an Elementary Hebrew and Judaic Studies Teacher for the 2027–2028 school year, starting around August 23, 2027. Hebrew language and Israeli culture are central to the curriculum, and you'll help create an engaging, immersive Hebrew environment.

Responsibilities:
• Teach integrated Hebrew and Judaic Studies classes, covering reading, writing, speaking and listening
• Teach Jewish holidays, prayer, Torah and Israel, nurturing a strong sense of Jewish identity
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners
• Build a classroom culture of respect, curiosity and love of Judaism, Hebrew and Israel

Qualifications:
• Native or near-native Hebrew fluency
• At least 2 years of teaching experience preferred, ideally in a Jewish day school or immersion setting
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (master's preferred)
• Strong classroom management and familiarity with current language-teaching methods
