Job description
The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is hiring an Inclusion Specialist for After School Clubhouse, its warm, inclusive afterschool community for children in Pre-K through 5th grade. You'll strengthen Clubhouse's inclusive model so children with a range of learning, communication, sensory, behavioral and social-emotional needs can fully take part, working with Clubhouse leadership, staff, families and the JCC's Center for Diverse Abilities. This is a program-wide consulting and coaching role, not a 1:1 support position.
Responsibilities:
• Observe groups and transitions, and coach counselors in real time on regulation, sensory needs, communication, behavior and peer relationships
• Support neurodiversity onboarding and ongoing staff training
• Turn intake information, IEPs, evaluations and family input into practical strategies and simple support tools
• Partner with families and, with permission, school teams for continuity across settings
• Build systems for identifying needs, documenting strategies and following up
• Work with the Inclusive Classroom Designer and Social Work Intern on environmental supports and individual strategies
Qualifications:
• Background in social work, special education, psychology, child development, occupational therapy, counseling or a related field
• Experience supporting neurodivergent children or children with disabilities in inclusive settings
• Knowledge of neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based practices
• Strong communication and collaboration with children, families and staff
**Pay:** $35–$40/hour
**Schedule:** Monday–Thursday, 2:30–5:30 PM, September through June, following a school-year calendar.
Benefits:
A free fitness membership for the pool and health club, access to the JCC's cultural, learning, arts and film programs, and professional development.
