Job description
JGO (the Jewish Grad Organization), the national home for Jewish graduate students and young professionals on 171 campuses across North America, is hiring a Director of Programming & Engagement. Last academic year JGO ran nearly 1,000 programs reaching more than 14,000 participants. This is a builder role: you'll own the vision, strategy and delivery of JGO's student and alumni programming nationwide, and lead and grow the team that runs it, including a growing network of Regional Engagement Coordinators. Reports to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, hire, train and develop the Programming & Engagement team, and design its structure for growth
• Set goals and KPIs, and document playbooks so programs don't depend on any one person
• Build and run the annual programming strategy and calendar, and evaluate every program
• Oversee national, regional and campus programs, including the Campus Fund, Shabbat and holiday series, speaker series, Israel trips and the national Partners Summit
• Own program budgets and campus funding approvals
• Grow campuses, student leaders and repeat participants, and build pathways into leadership and alumni engagement
• Track participation in Salesforce and report impact to leadership, the board and funders
Qualifications:
• 5–7+ years in program management, student or young-adult engagement, community building or Jewish education
• 3+ years managing people, including building or scaling a team; experience with distributed teams
• Based in or willing to relocate to the New York City area
• Strong project management and communication; Salesforce a plus
• Familiarity with Jewish communal life and campus engagement strongly preferred
Salary: $80,000–$120,000, based on experience
Benefits:
A 401(k) with employer match, paid time off and sick leave, Jewish holidays off, and a health stipend for eligible employees.
**Schedule:** Hybrid, with regular in-person time in New York City and occasional travel to campuses and national programs.
