Physical & Health Education Teacher

Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit, a joyful Jewish day school serving students from Early Childhood through 8th grade, is hiring a Physical & Health Education Teacher for a short-term, full-time, co-teaching position. You'll create an engaging, inclusive environment where students of all abilities build confidence, physical skills and healthy habits.

Responsibilities:
• Plan and teach developmentally appropriate physical education and health lessons across assigned grades
• Promote fitness, coordination, movement skills, teamwork and sportsmanship
• Teach age-appropriate health concepts that support students' physical, social and emotional well-being
• Adapt activities for diverse abilities and learning styles
• Set clear expectations for participation, safety and equipment use, and supervise a safe gym
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership on school-wide initiatives

Qualifications:
• Experience teaching physical education and/or health to school-aged children (required)
• Bachelor's degree in physical education, health education or a related field preferred
• Michigan teaching certification and relevant endorsements preferred
• Strong classroom management, communication and organization
• A collaborative, flexible and positive approach
