Job description

Job Summary:
The ProShop ERP Implementation Project Manager is a critical client-facing role responsible for the end-to-end management of new customer implementations. You will be the primary point of contact for machine shop clients from the post-sale kickoff to the final go-live, ensuring a timely, successful, and transformative adoption of ProShop ERP. This role requires a perfect blend of project management discipline, deep manufacturing process knowledge, and exceptional communication skills to translate complex production requirements into a fully configured ProShop solution. It also requires deep, hands-on knowledge of the ProShop ERP product itself, including its data model, configuration logic, and module interdependencies, at a level sufficient to configure, troubleshoot, and problem-solve independently. This position involves regular travel to client sites.

Essential Duties:

End-to-End Project Management: Lead and manage the entire ProShop ERP implementation lifecycle for multiple machine shop clients simultaneously, including project planning, scope definition, resource allocation, and timeline management.
Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main liaison between the client and internal teams, building strong, collaborative relationships and managing expectations within the context of a ProShop ERP deployment.
Change Management: Successful ProShop ERP Implementation Project Managers must possess a strong capability to effectively lead change initiatives within organizations ranging from 10 to 200 individuals. This requires a deep understanding and application of proven change management techniques. The Project Manager will be responsible for building a compelling vision for the new ERP system, clearly articulating its benefits and aligning stakeholders. They will also be tasked with creating comprehensive action plans that outline specific steps, timelines, and responsibilities for the implementation process. The goal is to facilitate a smooth transition, minimize disruption, and maximize the positive impact of the ProShop ERP system on the organization's operations.
Discovery & Requirements Gathering: Conduct detailed discovery sessions to deeply understand their specific machine shop workflows, including quoting, job costing, production scheduling, inventory, quality management systems (QMS), tool management, and compliance standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001). Surface product-fit issues as they come up in these sessions and propose configuration solutions in the moment, so requirements leave discovery with a viable path to build.
Solution Configuration & Delivery: Personally configure ProShop ERP modules to meet client specifications, including quoting, job costing, production scheduling, inventory, quality management systems (QMS), and tool management. This is hands-on work: building and testing workflows, fields, and automations in the system yourself, and mapping client production processes to the ERP so every module is set up for optimal performance and compliance.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues related to data migration from legacy systems, process changes, and user adoption on the shop floor. Develop contingency plans to ensure project milestones are met. Own technical triage on escalated issues, diagnosing whether a problem is a configuration gap, a data issue, or a genuine product limitation, and routing it accordingly.
Product Expertise & Escalation: Serve as the team’s subject-matter expert on ProShop ERP’s configuration capabilities. Distinguish client needs that can be met through custom configuration from those that require product enhancement, and partner directly with Product and Engineering on the latter, with a clear technical case for the change.
Validation & Training Readiness: Validate the configured system against client requirements and confirm it is training-ready before enablement begins. Hand off configuration context and supporting documentation to whoever delivers training, so sessions for machinists, production managers, quality inspectors, and estimators reflect how the client’s system is actually built.
Project Documentation: Maintain meticulous project documentation, including project plans, status reports, process maps, and configuration guides relevant to the client's manufacturing environment and ProShop setup.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our ProShop ERP implementation methodology, tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:

Must be located in US or Canada (excluding California, Quebec and Manitoba).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience or equivalent in project management, specifically managing ERP software implementations within a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
Hands-On System Configuration: Demonstrated hands-on experience configuring or administering complex business software, such as an ERP, MES, or comparable multi-module platform, including setup of workflows, fields, and automations. This is a separate requirement from project management experience, and both are needed.
Travel Requirement: Ability and willingness to travel to client sites for key project phases like discovery, training, and go-live support (estimated at 25-40%).
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, facilitate meetings effectively, and build rapport with diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail, especially regarding complex manufacturing workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:

Deep familiarity with quality management standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485.
Direct experience working in a machine shop or discrete manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with manufacturing concepts like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints.
Experience with other manufacturing software (e.g., CAD/CAM, MES) is a plus.
Experience as a super-user or system administrator of an ERP or MES platform.
Hands-on experience with business and project management software such as HubSpot CRM, GuideCX, Jira, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must have access to reliable internet that can handle video calls and space to have confidential calls.
