Reporting to the Head of Engineer and sitting in a DevOps team of two, you’ll collaborate with our Solutions Architect in developing the next generation of our cloud-based infrastructure while sunsetting legacy technology and systems. The DevOps team works closely with the Backend team in managing our AWS environment with the goal of efficiently serving our growing international audience across multiple products and platforms (desktop, iOS, and Android). This includes both traditional EC2 hosted platforms as well as our next generation of serverless APIs.

This is a highly visible and dynamic role since you’ll be contributing at every level including system design, database and systems administration, OS and application testing, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure and network support. This role is responsible for maintaining our infrastructure as code via CI/CD pipelines across various applications.

Our DevOps team is also responsible for tier-1 support which will be required on an as needed basis to help support our hybrid office. This includes new hire setups, account management, and office networking.

This role will be part of an on-call rotation schedule to support our infrastructure.

Requirements:

3+ years experience in a software development environment
Experience working with an environment hosted in AWS
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (i.e. Cloudformation, Terraform)
Experience working with Linux based systems (or other *nix)
Scripting experience (Bash, Python or other programming experience a plus)
Familiarity with cloud-based monitoring tools
Familiar with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)

Nice to have:

Familiar with database administration (MySQL, Postgres)
Experience with network/application security (Web application firewall, security groups, OS hardening, anomaly detection)
Advanced network routing (BGP, OSPF, VPN tunneling)
Centralized logging systems
Experience with creating/maintaining application CI/CD pipelines
