Job description

Eshel, which builds community and acceptance for LGBTQ+ Orthodox Jews and their families, is hiring a National Program Manager. You'll oversee Eshel's New York City programming and grow its national chapter model so LGBTQ+ Orthodox+ Jews can build supportive communities in Orthodox hubs across the country. You'll also help coordinate the Eshel National LGBTQ+ Retreat. The role mixes remote and in-person work: you'll work from home most days, but must be able to commute to the New York Tri-State area for regular meetings and events.

Responsibilities:
• Create and run NYC programs and events, including programming for women, trans and 55+ community members
• Manage and supervise volunteer event coordinators and facilitators in NYC and nationally
• Meet regularly with chapter leaders in key cities to plan events and grow chapters
• Manage NYC and chapter budgets
• Build partnerships and events with local synagogues and organizations
• Help create national retreats, regional shabbatonim and family camp, and facilitate sessions

Qualifications:
• 4–6 years of client-facing programming experience; 2–4 years working with volunteers preferred
• Deep familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish community, the LGBTQ+ community, and their intersection
• Experience in program and event planning, supervision and nonprofit settings
• Confidence in public speaking and group facilitation
• Comfort with mental health challenges, education and resources
• Availability for nights and weekends for special events

Salary: $80,000–$90,000

Benefits:
Discretionary time off (3–5 weeks a year encouraged), most major Jewish and national holidays, early Friday closings for Shabbat during parts of the year, parental leave, unlimited sick leave, a 403(b), and monthly subsidies for home office costs and medical insurance.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with a deadline of November 15.
