Job description

Hebrew Public is hiring a Founding Director of Operations for OLAM Stamford, a new tuition-free public charter school opening in the 2027–28 school year. OLAM will grow to serve preK–8 with rigorous academics, daily Modern Hebrew and a focus on global citizenship. Starting in January 2027, you'll partner with the Head of School to build the school's systems from the ground up. It's a hands-on startup role at first, growing into leading an operations team. Reports to the Head of School, with support from the Hebrew Public network. You don't need to speak Hebrew to apply.

Responsibilities:
• Turn the school's vision into a startup plan with clear milestones, owners and timelines
• Design and run systems for transportation, meals, facilities, safety, student records, attendance and family communications
• Lead student recruitment and enrollment, including outreach, the lottery, waitlists and registration
• Oversee school-level compliance with health, safety, charter and education requirements
• Build and monitor the budget with the network Finance team, and manage purchasing, vendors and contracts
• Get the building and technology ready for opening day, and liaise with network HR on hiring and personnel
• Build relationships with families and community organizations

Qualifications:
• Six or more years of related experience, including operations leadership in schools or youth-serving organizations
• Startup experience (especially launching a school) and/or charter school operations experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to bring structure while systems are still taking shape

Compensation:
Highly competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience.
