Religious School Teacher (Torah La'am, K-6)

Bet Am Shalom, a Reconstructionist synagogue in White Plains serving families across Westchester County, is hiring teachers for its K-6 Torah La'am program for the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers use an inquiry-based, child-centered approach, helping students explore Judaism through text, the arts, music, prayer and Tikkun Olam, and teach Hebrew as a living language that connects students to traditional texts, liturgy and modern Israel.

**Schedule:** Sunday mornings 9:00-11:30 am and Wednesday afternoons 4:00-6:00 pm.

Qualifications:
• Basic Hebrew reading and comprehension skills
• Comfort with a progressive, pluralistic approach to Jewish literacy, history and values
• Commitment to a nuanced approach to Israel education grounded in Ahavat Yisrael and B'tzelem Elohim
