Learning Specialist

Perelman Jewish Day School, a Pre-K to 5th Grade independent school in the Philadelphia area, seeks a Learning Specialist to start as soon as possible. Full-time is preferred, but part-time will be considered. The Learning Specialist supports students with learning differences in close partnership with the Principal, faculty and the school's learning, behavioral and social-emotional support coordinators.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with faculty and administration to support diverse learners with academic, social and behavioral needs
• Observe and evaluate students and assess their learning strengths and challenges
• Provide research-based instruction through a self-contained classroom, co-taught inclusion classes, and small-group or one-on-one support
• Develop accommodation and learning plans with long-term goals
• Provide regular written progress reports and maintain confidential records
• Coordinate communication among students, families, the school and outside professionals

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education; graduate degree preferred
• Deep knowledge of learning disabilities, psycho-educational testing and assistive technology
• Strong grasp of differentiated instruction
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Google Suite and Google Classroom skills
• Familiarity with Fundations, Writing Workshop, The Writing Revolution, Responsive Classroom or ABA preferred

Salary: $45,000-$70,000 annualized (prorated for part-time), commensurate with experience
