Afterschool Group Leader

The YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood, one of New York City's first Jewish community centers, is hiring Group Leaders for Be Me, the Y's in-house Jewish afterschool program for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Be Me centers enrichment, inclusion, and curiosity in a warm, welcoming community.

Responsibilities:
• Help with program setup and cleanup
• Support students during homeroom, homework, and activities, creating an inclusive environment
• Set and model expectations for behavior and participation
• Build positive, professional relationships with youth
• Support activity specialists with active supervision
• May supervise students on buses at arrival and dismissal
• Follow DOH health and safety protocols and join staff meetings and professional development

Qualifications:
• High school diploma
• Experience working with youth in a classroom, afterschool, or community setting
• Organized, reliable, and punctual
• Eligible to work in the U.S.; must pass background checks, medical tests, and fingerprinting through the Department of Health

**Schedule:**
Monday–Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM.

Compensation:
$18 per hour.
