Teaching Assistant - Jewish Learning Experience

American Jewish University (AJU) is hiring a remote Teaching Assistant for its Jewish Learning Experience (JLE), AJU's for-credit online program for high school students and teens nationwide. The TA supports faculty, facilitators, and administrators by grading assignments, discussion boards, and assessments, and reports to the Dean of the Masor School for Jewish Education and Leadership.

Responsibilities:
• Grade JLE assignments, including knowledge checks, midterms, final exams, and extra credit, on deadline
• Give students clear, constructive feedback using rubrics and grading guidelines
• Keep grading consistent and fair, protecting student confidentiality and following academic integrity and AI policies
• Meet monthly with JLE administrators and faculty about grading issues and at-risk students
• Prepare a year-end report on themes in student work and suggested curriculum changes

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Judaic studies or a related area
• Prior grading or tutoring experience; teaching experience highly preferred
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Able to work independently
• Experience with online learning platforms; Canvas preferred

**Schedule:**
Variable, up to 8–10 hours per week. A one-academic-year contract (August–June), renewable annually.

Compensation:
$25 per hour.
