Aquatics Director

Shalom Austin is seeking an experienced Aquatics Director to lead the aquatics department at the Dell JCC. This full-time, exempt leadership role reports to the Fitness and Wellness Director and is responsible for the safety, operations, programming, staffing, and member experience of the Rochelle and Stanley Ferdman Family Aquatic Center.

Responsibilities:
• Recruit, train, schedule, and develop the aquatics team, directly supervising two Aquatics Managers and two Aquatics Specialists
• Lead part-time and seasonal lifeguards and attendants, including in-services, drills, and certifications
• Oversee daily pool operations: water chemistry, filtration, cleaning, logs, and inspections
• Maintain the pool schedule for programs, open swim, lap swim, rentals, and events
• Oversee swim team, group and private lessons, Masters Swim, and J Camps Swim Skills
• Coordinate Red Cross lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED training
• Manage the aquatics budget, purchasing, pricing, and reporting

Qualifications:
• Experience leading aquatics operations and staff
• Strong knowledge of pool mechanical, chemical, and filtration systems
• Current lifeguarding and safety training expertise
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Able to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies

Salary:
$65,000–$70,000.
