Job description
Veterinary medicine takes a team, and that team starts at the front desk. If you’re the kind of person who can juggle a ringing phone, a check-in, a scheduling question, and a nervous pet parent who just needs a little reassurance, all while keeping your cool, we’d love to meet you.
Animal Infirmary of Hoboken and our sister hospitals in Bayonne, Jersey City Heights, and Downtown Jersey City are looking for a Client Service Representative (CSR) to help make every client and patient feel welcome. We know the front desk is about much more than answering phones and booking appointments. You’re often the first face clients see, the reassuring voice they hear, and the person who helps keep the day running smoothly for everyone behind the scenes.
Our hospitals serve busy, close-knit communities where relationships matter. We’re looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people, genuinely cares about animals, and understands that a little patience and kindness can go a long way. Some visits will be routine, some will be stressful, and others may involve a very opinionated cat who has absolutely no intention of cooperating. Being able to meet people where they are, communicate clearly, and bring a calm, welcoming presence to the day makes all the difference.
As a CSR, you’ll greet clients, answer phones and emails, schedule appointments, coordinate check-ins and checkouts, process payments, and help clients understand next steps for their pets’ care. You’ll work closely with our veterinary assistants, technicians, doctors, and hospital leadership to keep information flowing and make sure patients receive the care they need. There will be plenty of multitasking, so being organized, dependable, and comfortable shifting gears when priorities change is important.
Veterinary experience is a plus, but we’re also happy to consider someone with strong customer service skills who is eager to learn. If you’ve worked in a busy medical office, hospitality, retail, or another people-focused role, many of those skills will translate beautifully. We can teach you the veterinary-specific details; a genuine interest in helping people and their pets is harder to teach.
What matters most is finding someone who enjoys being part of a team, communicates well, treats clients and coworkers with respect, and takes pride in doing the little things right. We want someone who will pitch in, ask questions, learn the ropes, and help create a positive experience for clients and teammates alike.
