MLL Teacher at Hebrew Public Charter Schools

Staten Island Hebrew Public (SIHP), part of the Hebrew Public network of secular public charter schools, seeks a Multilingual Learner (MLL) Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction using Responsive Classroom techniques. You don't need to speak Hebrew to apply. Responsibilities: • Write Common Core-aligned lesson plans that reach all learning styles • Analyze assessment data to adjust curriculum and instruction • Give the NYSITEL to new entrants within 10 days and the NYSESLAT to MLL and ELL students each year • Manage the classroom to maximize learning time • Collaborate with faculty on student work and curricular coherence Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required; master's a plus • K–12 lead teaching experience a plus, especially in urban, charter or Title I schools • NY teacher certification, or working toward it, a plus • Excellent oral and written communication Salary: $62,000–$92,000, based on experience, certification and performance Benefits: Employer covers 82% of medical, 80% of dental and 100% of vision premiums; 5% retirement match; 30+ holidays plus PTO; 6 weeks paid parental leave; fertility coverage; professional development.
