Religious School Classroom Aide at Congregation Emanu-El of the City of New York

Congregation Emanu-El is hiring a part-time classroom aide for its Downtown Religious School Lab (grades K–2) in Chelsea. Aides support students with varied learning needs inside and outside the classroom. Responsibilities: • Help students refocus, understand expectations and manage transitions • Provide sensory supports and structured breaks • Work one-on-one with students who have significant behavioral challenges • Collaborate with educators and meet regularly with the Inclusion Team • Attend paid professional development Qualifications: • Classroom or informal education experience (camp, afterschool) with grades Pre-K–8 • Special education experience or knowledge preferred • Comfortable in a Reform congregation with a diverse student body • Must live in the New York City tri-state area **Schedule:** Wednesdays 2:30–5:15 pm in Chelsea, with possible Sundays 9 am–12 pm and Mondays 3:30–6 pm on the Upper East Side. **Pay:** $45–$60/hour, 2–5 hours per week To Apply: Email a resume and cover letter to [email protected].
