Substitute Teacher at Congregation Agudas Achim

Congregation Agudas Achim is looking for reliable, adaptable Substitute Teachers for Makom, its Sunday morning education program. Substitutes step in when regular teachers are out, teach from the lesson plans they leave, and keep the classroom safe, welcoming and inclusive. **Schedule:** Part-time and on call. Makom meets Sundays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Agudas Achim. Teachers arrive 15 minutes before class and stay 15 minutes after. Responsibilities: • Deliver the lead teacher's lesson plans so learning continues without a break • Keep a safe, respectful and organized classroom that supports positive behavior • Supervise students during activities, breaks and transitions, following safety protocols • Adjust activities for different ages, needs and learning styles • Leave notes on attendance, progress and any incidents for the lead teacher Qualifications: • High school diploma required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in education, Judaic studies, child development or a related field is preferred • Experience working with children or youth in an educational or community setting • Strong communication, classroom management and problem-solving skills To Apply: Email with questions or to apply.
