About us

We are an OASAS-certified outpatient substance use disorder treatment program in Brooklyn New York, We offer assessment, individual and group counseling, and medication-supported treatment for adults.

This is a ground-floor role. You will help shape how the community, referral partners and payers come to know the program, and your work will directly decide how fast we grow.

Key responsibilities

Referral development

  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources: hospitals and ERs, detox and inpatient programs, primary care and psychiatric practices, sober homes, shelters, community organizations and houses of worship.
  • Develop justice-system partnerships: drug courts, probation and parole, ATI programs and defense attorneys.
  • Connect with employers, EAPs, schools and union assistance programs.
  • Hold 20–25 in-person outreach visits per week and keep every contact logged in the CRM.

Marketing and brand

  • Plan and run the marketing calendar: website content, Google Business profile, social media, directory listings and print collateral.
  • Write and update brochures, referral packets, one-pagers and email newsletters.
  • Represent the program at community events, health fairs, CEU lunches and conferences; host open houses and lunch-and-learns.
  • Keep all marketing truthful and compliant with OASAS, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 and payer rules.

Payer and partner relations

  • Support relationships with Medicaid managed care plans, commercial insurers and care managers (Health Homes, HARP, care coordination agencies).
  • Track which plans and populations generate referrals, and flag network or contracting gaps to leadership.

Admissions support

  • Hand off referrals to intake quickly and close the loop with referral sources (with patient consent) so they keep referring.
  • Help admissions shorten time from first call to first appointment.

Reporting

  • Report weekly on outreach activity, referrals by source, conversion to admission and marketing results.
  • Recommend where to focus effort based on the numbers.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of business development, community outreach or marketing in behavioral health, addiction treatment or healthcare.
  • An existing network of referral contacts in the New York area.
  • Strong in-person presence: comfortable cold-visiting a hospital social work office or speaking to a room.
  • Clear writer who can produce marketing copy and professional emails.
  • Organized and self-directed; tracks every lead without being chased.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality in SUD treatment.
  • Valid driver's license or dependable daily travel; able to pass a background check.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, social work, public health or a related field.
  • CASAC, CRPA or lived recovery experience, and understanding of the recovery community.
  • Familiarity with OASAS programs, NY Medicaid managed care, HARP and Health Homes.
  • Experience with a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot or similar), Canva and social media scheduling tools.
  • Spanish, Russian, Yiddish or another language common in the communities we serve.
