Assistant Director

Essential Job Functions:

Directly responsible for the overall supervision of academic counselors and an academic component of the after-school program

Prepare alternative activities to implement during homework sessions that complement the academic session

Provide a seamless day that aligns homework sessions with day school standards of learning

Responsible for leading trips off-site and supervising students and staff for the duration of the entire outing

Encourage and lead projects that foster academic, cultural, and artistic growth

Provide coverage for activity specialists

Promote teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship, including ultimate responsibility for youth behavior at the site and on trips.

Communicate the program’s challenges, progress, and success with After-School Program Director.

Ensures the Afterschool program is compliant with all DYCD, DOE, and DOHMH regulations and timelines and stays abreast of all local, state, and federal pandemic management conditions and requirements.

Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Able to work late afternoons and/or evenings.

Knowledgeable and skilled in Academics, Sports, or Arts programs and have prior experience successfully teaching and instructing youth in Academics, Sports, or Arts.

Knowledge of the New York City Department of Education

Qualifications:

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's Degree or demonstration of actively completing a B.A. Degree.

A minimum of one year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required.
