Job description
A healthcare company is seeking a hands-on Data, BI & Automation Developer to maintain and improve its data infrastructure, build reporting and analytics tools, and develop practical AI and automation solutions.
Working directly with senior leadership, this person will translate business needs into completed projects, from new reports and dashboards to automated workflows and improvements to existing systems. The role requires strong technical skills, business understanding, and the ability to work independently through development, testing, and implementation.
Responsibilities
-
Build new reports, dashboards, and analyses that give leadership visibility into financial results, operational performance, labor utilization, and other business priorities.
-
Work with leadership and business users to understand the questions they need answered, define reporting requirements, and deliver accurate, useful tools.
-
Identify manual and repetitive processes and develop automations that reduce administrative work, improve accuracy, and streamline workflows.
-
Evaluate and implement practical AI applications for analyzing information, processing documents, generating reports, and supporting internal operations.
-
Develop and improve data pipelines and integrations that bring information from financial, operational, clinical, labor, and other systems into a consistent reporting environment.
-
Maintain and enhance existing databases, reports, and dashboards across SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, SSRS, and Power BI.
-
Troubleshoot data discrepancies and reporting issues, improve existing code and queries, and strengthen the reliability and performance of data processes.
-
Carry out upgrades and migration projects, including updating legacy reports and moving existing processes to newer tools where appropriate.
-
Manage projects from requirements through rollout, including testing, documentation, user feedback, and ongoing support.
Requirements
-
Strong hands-on experience in business intelligence development, data engineering, analytics development, or a related technical role.
-
Proficiency in SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, and data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory.
-
Experience building reports, dashboards, and data integrations that address specific business needs.
-
Practical experience developing automations and applying AI tools to business workflows.
-
Ability to understand and improve an existing technical environment, including troubleshooting unfamiliar code and working with legacy systems. SSRS experience is a plus.
-
Strong analytical skills and attention to data accuracy, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and validate results.
-
Resourcefulness and the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and follow projects through to completion.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with leadership and nontechnical users.
-
Healthcare experience preferred, particularly skilled nursing, long-term care, or related healthcare operations.
