Job description
🎯 Role
As a Product Engineer, you'll own product problems end to end, from architecture and data modeling to user experience and production code. You'll build the systems, workflows, and interfaces that help millions of learners acquire and master skills.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership engineering role for someone who cares about product quality, system design, and shipping real software. You'll work across React, TypeScript, APIs, Postgres, Neo4j, and AI-assisted workflows, turning ambiguous problems into durable platform capabilities.
🛠️ Sample projects could include…
Optimizing slow SQL queries, indexes, and data access patterns to improve performance across high-volume learning and assessment workflows.
Designing a graph data model in Neo4j to represent curricula, skills, learning objectives, questions, explanations, and source material.
Building a responsive admin interface in React and Next.js that makes complex partner configuration possible without engineering support.
Shipping a workflow that combines thoughtful UX, clean APIs, and AI assistance to help subject-matter experts create and improve learning content.
Building internal engineering automation that identifies common bugs, suggests code changes, opens pull requests, and reduces repetitive maintenance work.
🤝 You might be a fit if you…
Have 5+ years of software engineering experience building modern applications, APIs, and production systems.
Are strong with React, TypeScript, frontend architecture, and API-driven product development.
Have hands-on experience with Postgres, including schema design, query optimization, indexes, and real-world performance tradeoffs.
Understand system design, data modeling, performance, and software engineering fundamentals.
Understand graph data modeling or are excited to work with Neo4j.
Can move from ambiguous product problem to technical plan to working software.
Apply strong design patterns and build systems that balance velocity with extensibility.
Care deeply about product quality, UX, reliability, and speed.
Write clearly and communicate technical tradeoffs with precision.
Are independent and comfortable owning projects end to end.
Have shipped AI-powered or AI-assisted features, or are excited to build them in production.
Are enthusiastic about mentoring, code review, and collaborative problem-solving.
