Job description

About the role: idea.ai has built a successful consumer product used by hundreds of thousands of paying subscribers. We are now opening our technology to businesses through Teams and API solutions that allows brands and technology partners to integrate our AI capabilities directly into their own products and customer experiences.

We are already seeing meaningful demand from brands and partners. Our next step is to turn that traction into a focused, repeatable B2B business.

We are looking for our first dedicated commercial hires: Market launchers who can win customers while helping us build the sales motion from the ground up. You will own the commercial process for our API and Teams platform products, from identifying and qualifying opportunities through technical evaluation, commercial negotiation and closing.

This is not a role in which you inherit a finished playbook, a large SDR team or a perfectly organised CRM. You will work directly with the COO and product team to determine which customers we should pursue, how we should position the API, and how we turn early market interest into recurring revenue.

You will personally sell. At the same time, you will establish the foundations on which we can later build a larger sales organisation.

What you'll do

Drive a 90-Day Impact Mandate:
Day 30: Fine-tune your ICP, configure your tech stack, launch live outbound outreach, and run discovery calls.
Day 60: Build qualified pipeline, establish a bi-weekly feedback loop with Product, and advance deals to proposal stages.
Day 90: Close your first initial deals and document a preliminary, repeatable sales motion.
Own Full-Cycle Pipeline Generation: Identify target accounts, source contact data, and build a data-driven outbound engine and scalable system of outreach.
Run Deep Discovery: Lead calls to uncover deep operational pain points regarding design bottlenecks, API integrations, and asset creation, rather than just pitching features.
Close Revenue: Guide prospects through product demos, technical evaluations, pricing negotiations, and final contract signatures.
Act as the Voice of the Market: Synthesize why deals are stalling and report this directly to the founders and product leads to influence the roadmap.
Build the Playbook: Document winning email templates, call scripts, and objection-handling techniques to lay the foundation for future specialized hires.

What you'll need

3-5 years of high-performance experience in rigorous, analytical roles. We care more about intellectual horsepower and system-building than a traditional SaaS resume. You might be a top-performing full-cycle AE who treats pipeline generation like a data problem, or you might come from a non-traditional background—such as investment banking, strategy consulting, or engineering—and are ready to apply mathematical rigor to early-stage go-to-market challenges.
The Zero-to-One Mindset: You thrive in ambiguity. You don't need a perfectly polished deck or a 10-page enablement guide to sell the vision and core value proposition.
Scrappy Execution: You are completely comfortable doing the unglamorous work of cold calling, scraping leads, and managing your own inbox alongside strategic negotiations.
Technical fluency and intellectual curiosity: Effectively pitch complex API/AI products to both developers and business leaders.
Exceptional Communication: The ability to clearly articulate complex value propositions and act as a reliable translator between the market and our internal product teams.
Drive for Closed-Won Revenue: A hunter mentality focused on pushing deals across the finish line to prove the business case.
Excellent communication skills in English (for US roles).

Nice to have

Early-Stage Startup Experience: Previous experience at a Seed or Series A startup launching a brand new product or market segment.
Established Networks: An existing network of decision-makers within filmmaking, marketing agencies, and other organizations that produce digital and creative assets at scale.
Domain Expertise (API Track): Technical fluency with the ability to hold your own in a conversation with a VP of Engineering about endpoints, latency, and integration roadmaps.
Domain Expertise (Teams Track): A strong understanding of the creative workflows, software stacks, and bottlenecks of advertising agencies and D2C marketing teams.
Sales Ops Knowledge: Experience setting up and configuring your own outbound tools or proven ability to build your own.
