Job description
The Spirit of the Position
The Project Management Office (PMO) supports projects across every department at LAZ, including Operations, Finance, Technology, HR, Client Services, and newly acquired or partner businesses. The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams, coordinates internal and external partners, and keeps projects moving toward organizational goals.
The PMO works as both a project lead and a consulting partner. Depending on the project, this role may run a project end to end or help a department plan and run their own work using PMO tools and resources. The right person for this role will be able to adapt to the needs of the business or project in an agile way, always identifying and executing to add value and support.
Principal Duties
Planning and delivery
Build short- and long-term project plans with clear milestones, owners, and deadlines
Track progress against the plan and keep timelines and quality on track
Adjust schedules, scope, and targets as business needs, priorities, or funding change
Coordinate go-live readiness, including user acceptance testing (UAT), data validation, training, pilot rollouts, and handoff to operational owners
Close out projects by confirming ownership transfer, documenting lessons learned, and capturing project outcomes
Team and partner leadership
Lead cross-departmental teams, making roles, responsibilities, and goals clear for everyone involved
Assign and track action items with owners across departments, vendors, and partners
Serve as the main point of contact when multiple teams or departments share a project so everyone stays aligned
Manage vendor and partner relationships through implementation, including kickoffs, recurring status calls, contract and timeline coordination, and follow-up on open items
Support the integration of acquired or partner businesses onto LAZ systems and processes
Lay out options and tradeoffs so sponsors and stakeholders can make timely decisions
Communication and reporting
Facilitate recurring project meetings and send timely recaps with decisions, action items, owners, and due dates
Keep stakeholders updated so the project stays aligned with their goals
Build and maintain Monday.com boards and dashboards, project reports, and all project communications
Contribute to portfolio-level reporting, including the monthly PMO Executive Summary
PMO intake and continuous improvement
Support the PMO intake and discovery process by helping requesters through intake, connecting them with the right teams, and helping build business cases
Contribute to PMO resources such as playbooks, SOPs, templates, SharePoint content, newsletters, and feedback surveys
Help departments plan and run their own projects using PMO tools and best practices
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
PMP or CAPM certification preferred
Experience
5+ years of project management experience, ideally in a PMO or multi-department setting
Experience leading software or system implementations with outside vendors
Experience with business integrations, operational transitions, or process changes across multiple departments is a plus
Skills
Works independently and makes timely calls on day-to-day project matters
Leads cross-functional teams without direct authority, including resolving conflicts and negotiating effectively
Manages vendor and partner relationships, keeping outside teams accountable to timelines and deliverables
Prioritizes tasks, manages time, and handles multiple projects across different departments at once
Works comfortably with people at every level of the organization, from frontline teams to executives
Strong written communication, including clear meeting recaps, status updates, and executive summaries
Brings a sense of urgency and follow-through
Adapts quickly to changing project requirements and priorities
Supports change management and business readiness so new tools and processes actually get adopted
Familiar with project management and collaboration tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Loop), Jira, Trello, Asana, or GitHub
Comfortable working through system integrations and implementations with IT, development teams, and vendors, and willing to learn technical concepts as needed
Translates between technical and non-technical stakeholders so everyone has a shared understanding of project requirements
