Job description
The COO is the practice's senior operations executive and strategic partner to physician leadership, reporting to the Practice Medical Director. The role leads Practice Operations, Practice Quality Assurance, ASC Operations, Human Resources, the Pathology Department, Marketing and Healthcare IT. Success depends on trusted rapport with our physicians and close collaboration with Finance, so that staffing, scheduling and workflows drive provider productivity and financial performance. This is a hands-on role: you will be on-site across our locations, close to physicians, staff and patients, and personally involved in day-to-day operations, not leading from a distance.
Qualifications
Required
7+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership in a multi-site medical practice and/or ambulatory surgery center, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
Proven record of building effective, trusted working relationships with physicians.
Experience partnering with finance and revenue cycle teams on budgets, productivity and KPIs.
Hands-on experience with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred), call center management, HR administration, vendor oversight and regulatory compliance.
Preferred
Master's degree (MHA, MBA or MPH).
Experience preparing an ASC for Joint Commission surveys and a laboratory for CLEP/CLIA inspections.
Gastroenterology or procedural specialty background.
