The ideal candidate has a proven track record of private label and e-commerce success, takes a highly proactive approach to product development, stays ahead of market and technology trends, continuously analyzes competitors and category opportunities, and presents data-driven product recommendations to leadership supported by sales, margin, and market analysis.
Responsibilities:

- Conduct ongoing competitive and category analysis to identify market gaps, emerging trends, and opportunities to outperform competing private label programs
- Monitor industry trends, manufacturer roadmaps, and upcoming product launches to proactively develop complementary products ahead of market demand
- Develop and present data-backed product proposals to leadership, including market analysis, revenue forecasts, margin opportunities, competitive positioning, and investment recommendations
- Partner with overseas sourcing teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to manage sourcing, samples, timelines, production, and product costing
- Coordinate with merchandising and leadership teams regarding pricing strategies, minimum order quantities, tooling investments, and final product approvals
- Manage the product development lifecycle across a large portfolio of SKUs, including new launches, product enhancements, refreshes, and line extensions
- Monitor development timelines, identify risks, and ensure products are launched on schedule and within budget
- Oversee packaging, labeling, compliance requirements, certifications, product graphics, and overall brand consistency
- Manage product content development, including specifications, product copy, imagery direction, and marketplace assets
- Partner with marketing, merchandising, and digital teams to successfully launch products across e-commerce, retail, and marketplace channels
- Leverage e-commerce performance data, customer feedback, reviews, and marketplace insights to drive product decisions and portfolio growth
- Track product performance, including sales, profitability, margins, customer reviews, returns, and overall portfolio health
- Recommend assortment additions, enhancements, pricing adjustments, and product discontinuations based on performance metrics and market demand
- Provide regular reporting, analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in private label product development, product management, merchandising, or related fields
- Demonstrated success developing, launching, and growing private label products within e-commerce, marketplace, and retail environments
- Proven ability to bring products from concept through commercialization while driving revenue and margin growth
- Experience working with overseas sourcing teams, manufacturers, and supplier networks
- Strong understanding of product costing, landed costs, lead times, inventory planning, tooling investments, and supply chain dynamics
- Excellent analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate category performance, competitive positioning, market trends, and financial opportunities
- Proven ability to build business cases and present data-driven recommendations to executive leadership
- Highly proactive, entrepreneurial, and strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate market opportunities rather than react to competitors
- Experience managing packaging development, branding, compliance requirements, and product content creation
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple product initiatives simultaneously
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and data analysis tools
- Experience within consumer electronics, photography, imaging, accessories, drone, technology, or related product categories strongly preferred
