Overview

A growing multifamily real estate investment and management organization is seeking an experienced Director of Asset Management to lead its asset management division and oversee the financial and strategic performance of its portfolio.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a real estate professional with strong financial acumen, deep understanding of multifamily operations, and the ability to lead teams, establish accountability, and drive portfolio performance.

The ideal candidate combines sophisticated asset management expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset and the executive presence to work closely with ownership and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the asset management team, including asset managers and analysts.

• Drive portfolio-level strategy and oversee the execution of individual property business plans.

• Monitor and optimize property performance, including revenue, operating expenses, NOI, budgets, and financial targets.

• Oversee property-level financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and performance reviews.

• Evaluate asset performance in relation to financing structures, investor objectives, and business plans.

• Partner closely with regional property management leadership to ensure effective execution of asset strategies.

• Establish clear performance expectations, reporting structures, and accountability across teams.

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and overall asset value.

• Provide strategic guidance on portfolio challenges, investment priorities, and performance improvement initiatives.

• Develop and mentor team members while strengthening the overall asset management function.

• Work directly with ownership on portfolio strategy, performance, and long-term objectives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in multifamily real estate asset management.

• Strong understanding of property-level financials, budgets, NOI, financing structures, and investment performance.

• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop professional teams.

• Strong understanding of property management operations and how they impact asset performance.

• Executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to drive accountability across departments.

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.

• Ability to translate financial analysis into actionable business strategies.

• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable working in a growing organization with evolving systems and processes.
